HISTORY: 

Wooden church Algaras Scale: 1/87 Length: 270mm Width: 210mm Height: 215mm 

Älgarĺs church is the oldest medieval wooden church in the Västergötland region in Sweden. The church is one of the few remaining mediaeval wooden churches with a rich interior, 

paintings from the 18th century and many mediaeval inventories. Some of the older church furniture, a baptismal font, a Maria Box, a triumphal crucifix and a wooden bell with runic 

writing have been dated to the first half of 13th century.

Before you begin: 

Before you begin to build the model it is necessary with a vengeance read building instructions and plans. Also chronology of assembly steps is necessary to keep. You check if the parts go together before you glue it respectively you make any corrections with sandpaper. During the gluing, painting, lacquering and at work with another chemical materials is necessary well ventilated in your working room. You cut the parts from sheet until actually required for fitting. You cut by knife only in direction off ward your body so that you head to injury risk. You can use white water based glue for gluing of the model. 

Colouring: 

Wooden construction of the roof and doors is protected again woodworms and climatic influences by paint based on mixture of tar. It leads to reddish-brown or brownish-black colour of the building. This effect is possible to get by staining of the wood by dark wood stain. The walls of the church are red with white windows. 

Model building process: 

Figure 1:
Glue the basic skeleton from parts 1-8. It is need to grind the parts 5-7 as it is shown in the figure.

Glue parts 9 and 10 to the skeleton. 

Figure 3:
Glue skeleton of tower and side structures from parts 11-27 and then glue them to theit positions. 

Figure 4: 

Glue parts 28-32 to their positions. 

Figure 5:
Glue parts 33-40to the skeleton. It is need to grind them before gluing so that they well fit in their positions. 

Figure 6:
Glue windows and doors from parts 44-52 as it is shown in the figure. Then glue transparent foil 53 to the windows. 

Figure 7:
Glue the windows and doors to the church. 

Figure 8:
Plank the walls by strips 54 and tower by thinner strips 55. It is need to glue the planks from the bottom to up. Positions of the planks are marked by engraving.
